FAQ

How did Plant New England start?

In 2003, The NETS Institute for Church Planting launched a local conference for pastors and lay leaders in Vermont. Though the conference attracted top-notch speakers like John Hannah, D. A. Carson and Tom Schreiner, it was limited in size due to its location.

In 2011, Wes Pastor, president of NETS, and Collin Hansen, editorial director of The Gospel Coalition, considered how to bless New England with a regional TGC conference. 9Marks and Sovereign Grace Ministries joined in, and The NETS Conference for Pastors and Lay Leaders became Plant New England. The first conference was held in October 2011.

We at Plant New England remain convinced that the best way to reach New England with the gospel is through church planting. Our prayer is that the Lord would use this conference to stimulate churches and church planters to proclaim the gospel boldly and faithfully throughout New England.

Is Plant New England just for church planters?

No. It’s for pastors, planters, aspiring planters, lay people – anyone who loves New England church planting. But we’ll also have tons of helpful, practical information specifically for church planters.

What is available for women?

This year we had a special workshop just for women focused on building effective women’s ministries from veteran Church Planter’s wife Sue Pastor. We will have the audio to these two sessions online soon.
